What is the Wiring harness for lamps?

Update Time:2024/4/17
A wiring harness plays an important role in joining several components. In simple terms, a wiring harness is an orderly arrangement of wires, terminals, and connectors that run all through an electrical appliance or an automobile and transmit data and electric power. It is a pack of wires or cables held together by way of a bundle, for different applications.

For better understanding, the mechanism of a wiring harness can be likened to the human circulatory system which transmits necessary elements to all parts of the body. The cables are fastened by long-lasting material which can be rubber, vinyl, electrical tape, conduit, a knit of extruded string or a combination of several materials. The material that holds them together creates a stringed combination, which arranges the assembly of cables and wires and makes them useful in transmitting the signals from one point to another.

A wiring harness can either be simple or complex, with a simple harness consisting of only two wires that have just basic terminals on one end, and the more complex ones which deal with several wires, connectors, and terminals. Choosing the right wiring harness depends on a number of factors including conductor sizes, conductor color, stranding size, amongst many others. More often than not, wiring harnesses are small and lightweight, making them easy to use and maneuver.

It is important to note that wire harnesses sometimes require tailor-made shapes along with other elements which include covering, mechanical fastening and over-molded connectors, perforations or strain reliefs. We provide the machinery to enable manufacturers custom design even the most complex of wire harnesses. Turing  provides all the equipment needed to produce wire harnesses to a high degree of accuracy, from basic tools like the wire cut strip crimp machine to semi-automatic machines and fully automated systems which include the wiring harness machine, electrical cable manufacturing machinery, automatic cable crimping machine, amongst others.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF A WIRING HARNESS?

WIRES ARE PROTECTED FROM SCRATCH AND HUMIDITY

Nobody wants a pile of scattered wires stretching for several kilometers around the work or play area. A wiring harness neatly combines a collection of wires, providing a visual appeal. It also helps to secure wires from the hazardous effects of abrasion and humidity (and in the long run protects people from getting shocked). In addition, a wiring harness protects wires from the effects of vibration.

INHIBITION OF SHORT-CIRCUITS/OPTIMISATION OF SPACES

Not only does a wiring harness prevent short circuits, but it also presents less work for installers since a scattered mass of wires would be neatly packed into one group. When wires and cables are connected within a single harness, the different components are more protected against short circuits. Space is optimized and the possibility of an electrical short is diminished because the wires have been constructed into a non-flexing bundle. A wiring harness will also drastically lower the likelihood of sparks and resulting fires.

WHERE IS A WIRE HARNESS NEEDED?

A wire harness is required when there is a need to transmit electric power and signals from one point or the other. Most times, a wire harness functions within the closed system of machinery and equipment,

ASSEMBLING A WIRING HARNESS

Before assembling a wire harness, the first (and most important) step is to cut the wires to be harnessed to the appropriate length. This can be achieved with the aid of a wire cutting machine that can be gotten from Turing.  The next step is to strip the ends of these newly cut wires in order to expose the wire cores. The automatic wire cutting, stripping and crimping machine from Turing serves to make this process easier and neater.

Once the first two steps are completed, the next thing to do is to fit the wires with any essential terminal or connector housing, which are available in several variations of dimensions and specifications. Finally, the wires are gathered into a harness that is set up based on design specifications.

A wiring harness can be made manually or with the aid of a machine-with each approach requiring several procedures. Some of the procedures involved in the production of a wire harness include routing and inserting wires through sleeves, taping the wires, crimping terminals onto wires, fastening strands with tape, clamps, or cable ties, and so on. It is important to note that there are several complex steps embroiled in fabricating and manufacturing wire harnesses, the good news is that Turing Automatic Technology Co., Ltd  has specialized experience in production of wide range wiring harness equipment and has built a wide range wire harness machines to suit the latest requirements of home appliance, toy, medical instrument, automotive electric industry and so on.

Similarly, inappropriately padded or connected wire harnesses are dangerous and can cause injury or worse, casualty. Therefore, wire harnesses should be created in correspondence to very precise geometric and electrical requirements which, if improperly followed, can lead to malfunctioning harnesses. Turing provides automatic terminal crimping machine, wire peeling machine, applicator, digital wire cutting machine, digital tube cutting machine, pneumatic wire stripping machine, wire coiling machine, wire feeding machine, wire cutting machine, wire stripper machine, wire crimper amongst other equipment for reliable connections that ensure safety.

IMPORTANCE OF WIRE HARNESSING IN THE HOME

Owing to the fact that almost all household appliances are electrical or electronic in nature, a wiring and cabling system is indispensable in the home. There are several appliances that are used and are interlinked. The cables are often tied with the help of materials which give insulation. This simple process is wire harnessing. Wire harnessing is used in several appliances such as heaters, air conditioners, and lamps. The cables are tied together by tapes or conduit. The loose wires of the different appliances are brought together to make the house systematic. Fundamentally, If the collection of wires is extended, it can stretch to a couple of kilometers.
